The Effectiveness of Very High Doses of Calcium Hypochlorite Against Cryptosporidium and Giardia Have

The effectiveness of very high doses of Calcium Hypochlorite against Cryptosporidium and Giardia have, to my knowledge, never been tested.  CT values accurately predict antimicrobial activity with microbes in suspension in laboratory settings, but are not as valuable to predict activity in “real world” situations. For instance, there is evidence that treating biofilms with a concentrated dose of biocide is more effective than using prolonged exposures to lower doses (even though the CT values might be equal).  This is an area of research that needs to be explored.
