On a dreary and rainy Saturday November 23rd the staff at International Specialty Supply (ISS) along with kids part of the highlands initiative “Teens Need Training” where warm inside playing laser tag and packing up Thanksgiving dinners for families around the Upper Cumberland region.  For the past 3 months the staff at ISS has been taking up donations for this day.  “We were able to pack up over 20 bags of food, each containing a complete Thanksgiving meal.” said Silas Stoddart Marketing Director “These meals will be donated to the Council of Americana Roots Music and they will distribute to families that would otherwise be hungry this thanksgiving.”  The initiative took place with not only a goal of feeding families but incorporating a group of children and show them how little deeds can make a difference. The Resident Services Department of Highlands Residential Services provides after-school and summer programs for up to 22 at-risk youth living in and around HRS public housing developments. Teens Need Training (TNT) provides our teens with after-school snacks, homework or tutoring assistance and a computer lab. Throughout the year, TNT members give back to the community by doing volunteer projects like this. “It was a great event and we plan on doing many more like this.” Said Marino Papazoglou, President/CEO.
