Description
What is in the container
Broccoli sprout powder and nothing else. One ingredient, nothing added and nothing removed. The
sprouts are grown under controlled conditions and carefully dried, because how a sprout is dried
determines what survives the process.
The number worth knowing
A 1997 paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy
of Sciences by Fahey, Zhang and Talalay reported that three day old sprouts of certain broccoli
and cauliflower cultivars contain 10 to 100 times higher levels of glucoraphanin, the compound that
converts to sulforaphane, than the corresponding mature plants. That is the finding, stated the way
the researchers stated it. We link to the paper so you can read it yourself.
What we are not going to tell you
Search sulforaphane and you will find pages promising it is proven to do a long list of things.
We are not going to make those claims, because the research does not support them yet, and a company
that has been in the sprouting business for three decades should know the difference between a
promising compound and a proven treatment. This is a food, not a medicine. It is a concentrated,
single ingredient powder made from sprouts grown properly, and that is what we sell it as.
Questions about the powder
If you want to know how it is grown, how it is dried, or what is and is not in the container, call
(800) 277-7688 or get in touch. We grow the sprouts, and we
supply the sprouting seed the industry uses, so the answer comes from the people who actually made it.
