Clover Sprout Seeds
A member of the pea family, clover originated in Europe and has been used for over 2,000 years as a cover crop to improve soil. Clover sprouts are very similar to alfalfa sprouts and are sweeter when they are yellow. Clover sprouts contain the most significant dietary sources of isoflavons of any sprout variety.

Clover Sprout Seeds for Commercial Growers
Clover is the sprout that quietly outperforms its reputation. It looks like alfalfa to a shopper, grows on a similar schedule, and tastes slightly sweeter and less grassy, which is why some growers have moved their whole mild-sprout line onto it. It is also the most common partner for broccoli in a blend, because it supplies the volume and the pleasant texture while the broccoli supplies the reason the customer picked up the package.
If you already grow alfalfa, clover needs no new equipment and no new process. It is the lowest-friction way to add a second item.
Growing notes
Small legume seed, so the fundamentals are the alfalfa fundamentals: uniform seed size, even hydration, steady irrigation and good drainage. Clover tends to be a little more forgiving than alfalfa on flavor if a room runs slightly warm, but it is no more forgiving on seed quality. Weed seed in a clover lot is the classic source of a complaint, because clover is grown as a forage crop nearly everywhere and forage-grade cleaning is not sprouting-grade cleaning.
- Cleaned to sprouting standard, with weed seed and inert material removed.
- Germination and vigor tested by lot. Vigor is the figure that predicts how a lot behaves in a drum.
- Untreated and intended for food use.
- Available from trial quantities up to pallet volume.
Food safety and documentation
Clover sprouts go out raw, which puts the seed at the center of your food safety plan. FDA’s requirements sit in 21 CFR part 112, Subpart M, covering seed treatment, agricultural water, environmental monitoring and spent sprout irrigation water sampling. Every lot we offer clears ISS food safety screening first, and lot documentation is available for your records and audits.
The blend argument
The single best margin move for most mild-sprout growers is to stop selling one species alone. Our broccoli and clover blend exists because that pairing sells better than either seed does by itself, and it uses the equipment you already own: the wash system and the cyclone centrifuge system.
