Confirming our commitment to food safety, we would like to make the public aware of a voluntary recall of clover sprouts. Sprouts Unlimited of Marion, IA, has issued a voluntary recall of clover sprouts from the market.  The sprouts were grown using our seed lot SCL2-9AX.  Samples have been taken of the sprouts in question as well as the seed used. At this time there has been no confirmation that the seed lot or the sprouts were contaminated with E. coli or any other pathogenic bacteria.

Although this lot was not purified using our new state-of-the-art technology, we are confident that our documented, best-in-class food safety processes safeguarded the integrity of this product.  We are awaiting further tests to determine if a withdrawal of the clover seed from the market is necessary.  In the meantime and out of an abundance of caution we recommend customers discontinue using SCL2-9AX.  We are shipping our customers replacement seed while we await test results.  If the seed is confirmed to contain pathogens we will withdraw the contaminated seed from the market.
